At Faith Christian School, part of our mission is to “equip students to live effectively in God’s world.” \u00a0Internally, we know what we mean by that statement. \u00a0But, what exactly does “equipping” look like, and how exactly does “living effectively” get played out in a student or graduate’s life.<\/p>\n
I could go on and on about our academic program, or the spiritual and character development aspects of our school. \u00a0I even have bright shiny brochures that could tell you all about it! \u00a0I could go on and on about graduates who have successfully finished post-graduate degrees, play a part in their churches, started their own businesses, and contributed to our community.<\/p>\n
The best way the FCS story is told is when it is projected through the lens of a personal experience. \u00a0Below are portions of a letter we received from a recent athletic opponent.<\/p>\n
I would like to commend Faith Christian Team, Coach and Fans on an outstanding experience last night… You should be very proud, not because of your win, but because you displayed the love of Christ in your actions and the way in which you treated a soccer team. \u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n It was evident from the opening moments by recognizing our Seniors. \u00a0What a testament to the respect that you have for your opponents…. this allowed our Seniors to have their moment in the sport light. \u00a0Then there was the play on the field. \u00a0It brings a verse to mind:\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n Philippians 2:3 – do nothing from rivalry or conceit, but in humility count others more significant than yourselves. \u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n I guess in summation, when there often is so much negativity about youth in the media, it is important to let a group of young ladies, their coach\u00a0and\u00a0community know that there are wonderful young people out doing the right things…but more importantly displaying\u00a0the\u00a0love of Christ. \u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n
