What a fun and exciting time we had this past week with Spirit Week which led up to Homecoming Friday night! The student body\u2019s creative costumes and outfits were amazing as they dressed up according to a different theme each day –famous pairs, Science Fiction, Disney, Bible characters, and finally, maroon and gold day on Friday. As the week progressed, the enthusiasm built with the whole school joining in on the fun as we held a daily parade of classes in their costumes. With the parade happening right around the elementary lunch time, it was “dinner and a show” for many of the children. On Friday, we held a pep rally after our class parade. The Pep Band and Cheer Squad led the way.<\/p>\n

\"DSC_0075\"<\/a>Later that night, it was a packed house- in spite of the sleet and the snow. The pep band gave us some lively music, and our cheer block of young people filled more than two complete sections of the bleachers. It was obvious to everyone that they brought the noise and excitement from the start of the JV boys\u2019 game until the final buzzer of the Varsity game. Fountain Central High School was our opponent on this night, and the competition was intense. In the end, Faith came up short on the scoreboard, but had nothing to hang their heads about. Following the game, both teams joined together for a word of prayer in the center court.<\/p>\n

\"DSC_0067\"<\/a>The homecoming ceremony was held between the games. Prior to the homecoming nominations and selection, Pastor Johnny Kjaer spoke to the student body in chapel on the Biblical characteristics of a woman of virtue. Each grade, 9th \u2013 11th, selected one young lady to represent their class. The young ladies were Maddy Lierman (9th), Kate Starr (10th), Elle Sandry (11th), and three seniors- Mariel Netherton, Grace Cho, and Hannah White. The three senior ladies were selected by the senior class and then voted on by the high school. As each girl was escorted onto the court by her father, we were able to hear her pre-recorded testimony along with that of her mother. Grace, voted as this year\u2019s Homecoming queen, was crowned by last year\u2019s homecoming queen, Maggie Wetzel.<\/p>\n

\"DSC_0131\"<\/a>All in all, it was an enjoyable night with many alumni in the crowd and at the reception. Home fans as well as visitors were very gracious about the evening, and many lingered after the events were through. We hope you will be able to be a part of events like this in the future. It\u2019s nights like these that build wonderful memories and at the same time honor the Lord.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
