I just returned from a survey trip to the Dominican Republic (DR) with a team representing Faith Church<\/span><\/a>, Fellowship Greenville<\/span><\/a> and Faith Global Missions<\/span><\/a>.\u00a0 We were encouraged, thankful, convicted and challenged by what we observed.\u00a0 I hope you enjoy this brief report and follow the links to see pictures and learn more about what God is doing in DR.\u00a0 As you follow the links, please feel free to share them on your own Facebook timeline.<\/span><\/p>\n

Fondo de la Botella<\/span><\/a> is a house church plant in a poor barrio of Santiago.\u00a0 <\/span>Iglesia Bautista de la Gracia<\/span><\/a> provides two weekly Bible studies and distributes food packs to neighborhood residents.\u00a0 We met an elderly lady who came to Christ several months ago, but could not read.<\/span>\u00a0 She worked hard to learn to read and has only recently received her own copy of the Scriptures.<\/span>\u00a0 She is thrilled to be able to read God\u2019s Word for herself now!<\/span><\/p>\n

Hogar Crea<\/span><\/a> is a government home for men struggling with addictions where Iglesia Bautista de la Gracia<\/span><\/a> freely conducts a weekly Bible study and helps with special needs.\u00a0 <\/span><\/p>\n

Iglesia de Dios Valle de Bendiciones<\/span><\/a> is a church plant, providing food and limited childcare and education to a poverty-stricken barrio.\u00a0 <\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Iglesia Evangelista Cristo Redentor<\/span><\/a> is a Haitian church plant and school.\u00a0 Many undocumented Haitian refugees live in DR and do not qualify for education or social services.<\/span>\u00a0 <\/span>Yve\u2019s story<\/span><\/a> will bless you.<\/p>\n

Vida para Ni\u00f1os<\/span><\/a> provides half-day Christian education as well as a meal and fresh fruit.\u00a0 Iglesia Bautista de la Gracia helps provide food, medicine and leadership.<\/span><\/p>\n

Iglesia Bautista de la Gracia<\/span><\/a> created Fundaci\u00f3n Red de Misericordia<\/span><\/a>, Network of Mercy Foundation, because they had a burden to reach the orphans of DR.\u00a0 They currently have three homes for different age groups ranging from infants to high school.<\/span><\/p>\n

T.E.A.R.S.<\/span><\/a> is a ministry started by a former Oakland gangbanger who trusted Jesus and then wanted to reach people in a dangerous, severely poverty-stricken barrio.\u00a0 Rod and his wife, Twyla, live among the people of their barrio in La Vega.<\/span>\u00a0 They minister in practical ways to plant the seed of the gospel and establish a church.<\/span>\u00a0 <\/span><\/p>\n

Cien Fuego<\/span><\/a>, literally 100 fights, is so named for the nature of its inhabitants\u00a0 It is the location of two church plants associated with <\/span>Iglesia Bautista de la Gracia<\/span><\/a>.\u00a0 <\/span><\/p>\n
