We would encourage you to use the ideas below to review Sunday\u2019s lesson with your family.<\/p>\n<h2><strong>God\u2019s Covenant and Commandments for Israel<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p><strong>Read:<\/strong><strong>\u00a0<\/strong>Exodus 19-20<\/p>\n<p><strong>Ask your child:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>What did God promise Israel in His covenant with them? <em>He would make them a holy nation, a royal priesthood, and His treasured people.<\/em><\/li>\n<li>What did the Israelites promise to the Lord? <em>They promised that they would listen to His voice and keep His covenant.<\/em><\/li>\n<li>What are two major truths revealed by the 10 commandments? <em>God is holy. People cannot obey God perfectly.<\/em><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Emphasize this principle:<\/strong>\u00a0\u00a0God is holy. Therefore, we should love and obey Him.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Practice:\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Praise God for treasuring His people.<\/li>\n<li>Trust in Jesus for the forgiveness of sins.<\/li>\n<li>Demonstrate love for God by obeying His Word.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Sing:<\/strong><strong>\u00a0<\/strong>\u201cSeek Ye First\u201d<\/p>\n<p><strong>Prepare for next week:<\/strong>\u00a0\u00a0Read\u00a0Exodus 25-31, 40<\/p>\n<p><strong>Memorize for Nov 10-Dec 1:<\/strong> <strong>\u201cChildren, obey your parents in the Lord, for this is right.\u201d Ephesians 6:1<\/strong>*<\/p>\n<p>* Preschool verse in bold<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The following lesson was taught in our children\u2019s Sunday School classes on Sunday, November 9.
