We would encourage you to use the ideas below to review Sunday\u2019s lesson with your family.<\/p>\n<h2><strong>God Sends Isaac and Tests Abraham<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p><strong>Read:<\/strong> Genesis 17:15-17,19, 21; 21:1-8; 22:1-19<\/p>\n<p><strong>Ask your child:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Who was Isaac? <em>Abraham\u2019s promised son<\/em><\/li>\n<li>Why did God ask Abraham to sacrifice Isaac as a burnt offering? <em>To test Abraham and reveal the quality of his faith.<\/em><\/li>\n<li>How did Abraham pass the test? <em>By obeying everything God told him, demonstrating that he loved his God more than anything else.<\/em><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Emphasize this principle:<\/strong> God is faithful to His people. Therefore, we should give Him first place in our lives.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Practice:\u00a0 <\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Praise God for keeping His promises.<\/li>\n<li>Demonstrate love for God by obeying His Word.<\/li>\n<li>Cultivate love for God through Bible study, prayer, and service.<\/li>\n<li>Display the character of God to others by keeping your promises.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Praise:<\/strong> \u201cSeek Ye First\u201d<\/p>\n<p><strong>Memorize Sep 15-Oct 6<\/strong><strong>: <\/strong>\u201c<strong>All Scripture is inspired by God<\/strong> and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, for training in righteousness; so that the man of God may be adequate, equipped for every good work.\u201d<strong> 2 Timothy 3:16<\/strong>-17*<\/p>\n<p>* Preschool verse in bold print<span style=\"text-decoration: line-through\"><br \/>\n<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The following lesson was taught in our children\u2019s Sunday School classes on Sunday, September 21.
