We would encourage you to use the ideas below to review Sunday&#8217;s lesson with your family.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><strong><span style=\"color: #000000\">God Ordains the Day of Atonement<\/span><\/strong><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000\"><strong>Passage:<span style=\"font-family: Optima\">\u00a0 <\/span><\/strong>Leviticus 11\u201316<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000\"><strong>Principle:<span style=\"font-family: Optima\">\u00a0 <\/span><\/strong>Man constantly needs to confess sin.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000\"><strong>Praise:<span style=\"font-family: Optima\">\u00a0 <\/span><\/strong>\u201cCreate in Me a Clean Heart\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000\"><strong>Prompt:<span style=\"font-family: Optima\">\u00a0 <\/span><\/strong>Ask your child these questions:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000\">Who is holy and without sin?<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000\">What was the purpose of the Day of Atonement?<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000\">Why were animals sacrificed?<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000\">What cleanses a Christian from sin?<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000\"><strong>Practice:<span style=\"font-family: Optima\">\u00a0 <\/span><\/strong>Help your child apply these truths in the following ways:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000\">By confessing every sin to God.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000\">By praising God for eternal forgiveness through Jesus\u2019 death on the cross.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000\">By trusting Jesus for eternal forgiveness.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000\"><strong>This Week:<span style=\"font-family: Optima\">\u00a0 <\/span><\/strong>As a family, read Leviticus 11\u201316.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000\"><strong>Next Week:<span style=\"font-family: Optima\">\u00a0 <\/span><\/strong>Leviticus 19<\/span><\/p>\n<p><strong><span style=\"color: #000000\">Key Verse:<span style=\"font-family: Optima\">\u00a0 <\/span><\/span><\/strong><span style=\"color: #000000\">Leviticus 16:34<br \/>\n<\/span><span style=\"color: #000000\">\u201c\u2018This shall be an everlasting statute for you, to make atonement for the children of Israel, for all their sins, once a year.\u2019 And he did as the LORD commanded Moses.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The following lesson was taught in our children&#8217;s Sunday School classes on Sunday, May 20.
