The Life of Solomon<\/span><\/b>\u00a0<\/span><\/h2>\n

Read: <\/span><\/b>1 Kings 2:1-4; 3:1-15; 8:1-9:9; 11<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Ask your child:<\/span><\/b>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

  • What did Solomon request from God? <\/span>Wisdom<\/span><\/i>\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n
  • Why was God pleased with Solomon\u2019s request? <\/span>Wisdom would help Solomon honor God and lead Israel to do the same.<\/span><\/i>\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n
  • What did Solomon build for God? <\/span>The temple.<\/span><\/i>\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n
  • What did God expect from Israel\u2019s kings? <\/span>Complete devotion to the Lord.<\/span><\/i>\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n
  • Why did God punish Solomon? <\/span>Solomon married many pagan wives and led Israel into idolatry.<\/span><\/i>\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

    Emphasize this principle: <\/span><\/b>God wants our full devotion. Therefore, we should pursue him faithfully.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

    Practice:<\/span><\/b>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

    • Ask God for wisdom to faithfully obey Him.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n
    • Pray for deliverance from temptation.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n
    • Spend regular time reading God\u2019s Word.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
