God Sends Isaac and Tests Abraham<\/span><\/b>\u00a0<\/span><\/h2>\n

Read:<\/span><\/b> Genesis 17:15-17,19, 21; 21:1-8; 22:1-19<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Ask your child:<\/span><\/b>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

  • Who was Isaac? <\/span>Abraham\u2019s promised son<\/span><\/i>\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
      \n
    • Why did God ask Abraham to sacrifice Isaac as a burnt offering? <\/span>To test Abraham and reveal the quality of his faith.<\/span><\/i>\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n
    • How did Abraham pass the test? <\/span>By obeying everything God told him, demonstrating that he loved his God more than anything else.<\/span><\/i>\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

      Emphasize this principle:<\/span><\/b> God is faithful to His people. Therefore, we should give Him first place in our lives.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

      Practice:\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/b>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

      • Praise God for keeping His promises.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
          \n
        • Demonstrate love for God by obeying His Word.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n
        • Cultivate love for God through Bible study, prayer, and service.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n
        • Display the character of God to others by keeping your promises.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
