We would encourage you to use the ideas below to review Sunday\u2019s lesson with your family.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Jesus Ascends and the Holy Spirit Arrives<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Read:<\/strong>\u00a0Acts 1:1-11; 2:1-47<\/p>\n<p><strong>Ask your child:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>What was God\u2019s plan for the spread of the gospel? <em>The disciples would be His witnesses in Jerusalem, Judea, Samaria, and the uttermost parts of the earth (Acts 1:8)<\/em><\/li>\n<li>What happened on the day of Pentecost? <em>The Holy Spirit indwelt Christ\u2019s followers and enabled them to speak in languages understood by foreign peoples. Peter proclaimed the gospel. 3000 believed and were baptized.<\/em><\/li>\n<li>What characterized the lives of early Christians? <em>They cared for the needs of fellow believers.<\/em><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Emphasize this principle:\u00a0<\/strong>God has given us a mission. Therefore, we should tell others about Jesus.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Practice:\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Proclaim the gospel to others.<\/li>\n<li>Share with believers in need.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Praise: <\/strong>\u201cSeek Ye First\u201d<\/p>\n<p><strong>Prepare for next week:<\/strong><strong>\u00a0<\/strong>Acts 3:1-4:31<\/p>\n<p><strong>Memorize for Jul 3-Jul 17:<\/strong> <strong>\u201cYour word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path.\u201d Psalm 119:105<\/strong>*<\/p>\n<p><strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The following lesson was taught in our children\u2019s Sunday School classes on Sunday, July 3.
