We would encourage you to use the ideas below to review Sunday\u2019s lesson with your family.<\/p>\n<h2><strong>Israel Disobeys God<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p><strong>Read:<\/strong>\u00a0Judges 1-3<\/p>\n<p><strong>Ask your child:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>What cycle was repeated throughout the book of Judges? <em>Israel rebelled against God; God judged Israel through it\u2019s enemies; Israel cried out for relief; God provided deliverance through the judges.<\/em><\/li>\n<li>What was a judge, and what was his or her job in Israel? <em>Judges were leaders who strengthened and delivered Israel from peril.<\/em><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Emphasize this principle:\u00a0<\/strong>God expects our full devotion. Therefore, we should obey Him.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Practice:\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Identify and forsake any desire that is stronger than your desire to please God.<\/li>\n<li>Thank God for showing mercy to sinners.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Praise: <\/strong>\u201cCreate in Me a Clean Heart\u201d<\/p>\n<p><strong>Prepare for next week:<\/strong><strong>\u00a0\u00a0<\/strong>Read\u00a0Ruth 1-4<\/p>\n<p><strong>Memorize for Dec 12-Jan 2:<\/strong> \u201cFor God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that<strong> whoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have eternal life.\u201d John 3:16<\/strong>*<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The following lesson was taught in our children\u2019s Sunday School classes on Sunday, January 2.
