We would encourage you to use the ideas below to review Sunday\u2019s lesson with your family.<\/p>\n<h2><strong>God Judges the Nations at Babel<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p><strong>Read<\/strong><strong>: <\/strong>Genesis 11:1\u20139<\/p>\n<p><strong>Ask your child:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>What did God command the people to do? <em>Be fruitful, multiply, and spread out across the earth<\/em><\/li>\n<li>Why did the people build the tower? <em>To make a name for themselves<\/em><\/li>\n<li>Why did God confuse the languages? <em>To limit their capacity for rebellion<\/em><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Emphasize this principle<\/strong><strong>: <\/strong>God opposes the proud. Therefore, we should humble ourselves and obey.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Practice<\/strong><strong>: <\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Turn from pride.<\/li>\n<li>Humbly obey the Lord.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Praise<\/strong><strong>: <\/strong>\u201cIn My Life, Lord, Be Glorified\u201d<\/p>\n<p><strong>Prepare for next week<\/strong><strong>: <\/strong>Genesis 11:27\u201312:9<\/p>\n<p><strong>Memorize Aug 22-Sep 12<\/strong><strong>:<\/strong> \u201cWhether, then, you eat or drink or whatever you do, <strong>do all to the glory of God.\u201d 1 Corinthians 10:31<\/strong>*<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The following lesson was taught in our children\u2019s Sunday School classes on Sunday, September 12.
