We would encourage you to use the ideas below to review Sunday\u2019s lesson with your family.<\/p>\n<h2><strong>God Calls Israel to Love Through Obedience<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p><strong>Read:<\/strong>\u00a0Deuteronomy 4, 6, 11, 28<\/p>\n<p><strong>Ask your child:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>How should people love God? <em>With all their heart, soul, and might.<\/em><\/li>\n<li>How should parents teach children to love God? <em>By making God and His Word the focus in all of life\u2019s activities.<\/em><\/li>\n<li>What does God promise if we obey? <em>Blessing<\/em><\/li>\n<li>What does God promise if we disobey? <em>Hardship<\/em><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Emphasize this principle:\u00a0<\/strong>God wants a relationship with us. Therefore, we should love and obey Him.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Practice:\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Memorize Scripture to meditate on throughout the day.<\/li>\n<li>Apply the truth of Scripture to life today.<\/li>\n<li>Demonstrate love to God by obeying His Word.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Praise: <\/strong>\u201cI Love You, Lord\u201d<\/p>\n<p><strong>Prepare for next week:<\/strong><strong>\u00a0\u00a0<\/strong>Read\u00a0Joshua 6<\/p>\n<p><strong>Memorize for Jan 3-Jan 24:<\/strong> <strong>\u201c<\/strong><strong>Watch over your heart with all diligence<\/strong>, for from it flow the springs of life. <strong>Proverbs 4:23<\/strong>*<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The following lesson was taught in our children\u2019s Sunday School classes on Sunday, January 10.
