We would encourage you to use the ideas below to review Sunday\u2019s lesson with your family.<\/p>\n<p><strong>God\u2019s Covenant and Commandments for Israel<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Read:<\/strong><strong>\u00a0<\/strong>Exodus 19-20<\/p>\n<p><strong>Ask your child:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>What did God promise Israel in His covenant with them? <em>He would make them a holy nation, a royal priesthood, and His treasured people.<\/em><\/li>\n<li>What did the Israelites promise to the Lord? <em>They promised that they would listen to His voice and keep His covenant.<\/em><\/li>\n<li>What are two major truths revealed by the 10 commandments? <em>God is holy. People cannot obey God perfectly.<\/em><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Emphasize this principle:<\/strong>\u00a0\u00a0God is holy. Therefore, we should love and obey Him.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Practice:\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Praise God for treasuring His people.<\/li>\n<li>Trust in Jesus for the forgiveness of sins.<\/li>\n<li>Demonstrate love for God by obeying His Word.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Sing:<\/strong><strong>\u00a0<\/strong>\u201cSeek Ye First\u201d<\/p>\n<p><strong>Prepare for next week:<\/strong>\u00a0\u00a0Read\u00a0Exodus 25-31, 40<\/p>\n<p><strong>Memorize for Dec 6-Dec 27:<\/strong> \u201cI have been\u00a0crucified with Christ; and it is no longer I who live, but\u00a0Christ lives in me; and\u00a0the\u00a0life\u00a0which I now live in the flesh <strong>I live by faith in\u00a0the Son of God, who\u00a0loved me and\u00a0gave Himself up for me.\u201d Galatians 2:20<\/strong>*<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The following lesson was taught in our children\u2019s Sunday School classes on Sunday, December 6.
