King David Receives God\u2019s Promise<\/span><\/b>\u00a0<\/span><\/h2>\n

Read:<\/span><\/b>\u202f2 Samuel 1:1-2:4a; 7<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Ask your child:<\/span><\/b>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

  • How did God keep His promise to David to make him king?\u00a0<\/span>After Saul\u2019s death, David became king over Judah, and later, all Israel.<\/span><\/i>\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n
  • What promise did God make to David?\u00a0<\/span>Among other incredible things,<\/span><\/i>\u00a0<\/span>God promised to establish the throne of one David\u2019s descendants (Jesus) forever.<\/span><\/i>\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

    Emphasize this principle:\u202f<\/span><\/b>God keeps incredible promises. Therefore, we should trust and honor him.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

    Practice:\u202f<\/span><\/b>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
