We would encourage you to use the ideas below to review Sunday\u2019s lesson with your family.<\/p>\n<h2><strong>The King Is Born<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p><strong>Read:<\/strong>\u00a0Matthew 1:1-2:12<\/p>\n<p><strong>Praise: <\/strong>\u201cO, Come All Ye Faithful\u201d<\/p>\n<p><strong>Ask your child:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>What does Jesus\u2019 name mean? \u201c<em>The Lord will save.\u201d<\/em><\/li>\n<li>Why did God come to earth as a man?\u00a0<em>Jesus came to save His people from their sin.<\/em><\/li>\n<li>Who were the magi?\u00a0<em>Scholars who were likely descended from Israelites exiled during the Babylonian captivity.<\/em><\/li>\n<li>What did the magi do when they came to Jesus?\u00a0<em>They worshiped Him and presented Him with gifts.<\/em><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Emphasize this principle:\u00a0<\/strong>Jesus is the Messiah. Therefore, we should rejoice and draw near to him.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Practice:\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Thank God for sending Jesus to rescue sinful men.<\/li>\n<li>Worship and devote yourself to Jesus.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Prepare for next week:<\/strong><strong>\u00a0\u00a0<\/strong>Read\u00a0Judges 1-3<\/p>\n<p><strong>Memorize for\u00a0Dec 9-Dec 30:<\/strong>\u00a0\u201cFor God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that<strong> whoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have eternal life.\u201d John 3:16*<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>* Preschool verse in bold<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The following lesson was taught in our children\u2019s Sunday School classes on Sunday, December 23.
