We would encourage you to use the ideas below to review Sunday\u2019s lesson with your family.<\/p>\n<p><strong>God Calls Israel to Love through Obedience<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Passage: <\/strong>Deuteronomy 6:4\u20139<\/p>\n<p><strong>Principle: <\/strong>God calls us to meditate on and obey His Word.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Praise: <\/strong>\u201cI Love You, Lord\u201d<\/p>\n<p><strong>Prompt: <\/strong>Ask your child these questions:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>How was Israel to love God?<\/li>\n<li>What were parents to teach their children?<\/li>\n<li>How can we apply God\u2019s Word to our lives?<\/li>\n<li>Should anything be more important to us than God?<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Practice: <\/strong>Help your child apply these truths in the following ways:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>By memorizing Scripture to mediate on throughout the day.<\/li>\n<li>By applying the truth of God\u2019s Word to his life today.<\/li>\n<li>By checking his heart to make sure nothing has taken God\u2019s place.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>This Week: <\/strong>As a family, read Deuteronomy 6:4\u20139.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Next Week: <\/strong>Deuteronomy 11:8\u201317.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Memory Verses:<\/strong> <strong>\u201c<\/strong><strong>You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart<\/strong> and with all your soul and with all your might.\u201d <strong>Deuteronomy 6:5*<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>* Preschool verse in bold print<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The following lesson was taught in our children\u2019s Sunday School classes on Sunday, February 11.
