We would encourage you to use the ideas below to review Sunday\u2019s lesson with your family.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Jesus Endures the Cross<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Passage:\u00a0 <\/strong>Matthew 27<\/p>\n<p><strong>Principle:\u00a0 <\/strong>Jesus died for sin, giving access to God.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Praise:\u00a0 <\/strong>\u201cJesus Paid It All\u201d<\/p>\n<p><strong>Prompt:\u00a0 <\/strong>Ask your child these questions:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Who mocked Jesus?<\/li>\n<li>What did the soldiers do to Jesus?<\/li>\n<li>How did Jesus die?<\/li>\n<li>What happened when Jesus died?<\/li>\n<li>Why did Jesus die?<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Practice:\u00a0 <\/strong>Help your child apply these truths in the following ways:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>By praising Jesus for suffering and dying for sin.<\/li>\n<li>By trusting Jesus for forgiveness of sin.<\/li>\n<li>By thanking Jesus for allowing us to come to God.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>This Week:\u00a0 <\/strong>As a family, read Matthew 27.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Next Week:\u00a0 <\/strong>Matthew 28<\/p>\n<p><strong>Memory Verse:\u00a0 Christ also died for sins<\/strong> once for all, the just for the unjust, <strong>so that He might bring us to God. 1 Peter 3:18a*<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>* Preschool verse in bold print<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The following lesson was taught in our children\u2019s Sunday School classes on Sunday, April 9.
