We would encourage you to use the ideas below to review Sunday\u2019s lesson with your family.<\/p>\n<p><strong>The Church Is Persecuted and the Gospel Spreads<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Passage:\u00a0 <\/strong>Acts 8:1\u201325<\/p>\n<p><strong>Principle:\u00a0 <\/strong>Believers must submit their lives to King Jesus.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Praise:\u00a0 <\/strong>\u201cAs the Deer\u201d<\/p>\n<p><strong>Prompt:\u00a0 <\/strong>Ask your child these questions:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>How did the persecution of the church help the gospel spread?<\/li>\n<li>What was Simon\u2019s heart problem, and what did Peter tell him to do?<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Practice:\u00a0 <\/strong>Help your child apply these truths in the following ways:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>By praising God for the gospel\u2019s spread.<\/li>\n<li>By examining his heart to see whether he has demonstrated true repentance.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>This Week:\u00a0 <\/strong>As a family, read Acts 8:1\u201325.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Next Week:\u00a0 <\/strong>Acts 8:26\u201340<\/p>\n<p><strong>Memory Verse:\u00a0 \u201c<\/strong><strong>Therefore bear fruit in keeping with repentance&#8230;\u201d Matthew 3:8*<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>* Preschool verse in bold print<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The following lesson was taught in our children\u2019s Sunday School classes on Sunday, November 13.
