We would encourage you to use the ideas below to review Sunday\u2019s lesson with your family.<\/p>\n<h2><strong>Jesus Forgives Sin<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p><strong>Passage: <\/strong>Matthew 9:1\u20138<\/p>\n<p><strong>Principle: <\/strong>Forgiveness of sin comes only through Jesus<\/p>\n<p><strong>Praise: <\/strong>\u201cLord, I Lift Your Name on High\u201d<\/p>\n<p><strong>Prompt: <\/strong>Ask your child these questions:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>How did Jesus\u2019 power to heal prove His authority to forgive?<\/li>\n<li>Why did the people glorify God after seeing Jesus\u2019 miracles?<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Practice: <\/strong>Help your child apply these truths in the following ways:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>By praising Jesus for His authority to forgive sin.<\/li>\n<li>By thanking God for not remembering sins that He has forgiven.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>This Week: <\/strong>As a family, read selected portions of Matthew 9:1\u20138.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Next Week: <\/strong>Matthew 9:18\u201326<\/p>\n<p><strong>Memory Verse:<\/strong> \u201c\u2018But that you may know that the Son of Man has power on earth to forgive sins\u2019\u2014then <strong>He said to the paralytic, \u2018Arise, take up your bed, and go to your house.\u2019\u201d Matthew 9:6<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>*Preschool verse in bold print<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The following lesson was taught in our children\u2019s Sunday School classes on Sunday, May 29.
