We would encourage you to use the ideas below to review Sunday\u2019s lesson with your family.<\/p>\n<h2><strong>Jesus Calms the Storm and Casts out Demons<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p><strong>Passage: <\/strong>Matthew 8:23\u201334<\/p>\n<p><strong>Principle: <\/strong>Jesus has power over the natural and supernatural worlds.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Praise: <\/strong>\u201cRejoice, the Lord Is King\u201d<\/p>\n<p><strong>Prompt: <\/strong>Ask your child these questions:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Why were the disciples afraid of the storm?<\/li>\n<li>What do these two miracles tell us about Jesus Christ?<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Practice: <\/strong>Help your child apply these truths in the following ways:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>By praising Jesus for His power.<\/li>\n<li>By worshiping Jesus by obeying Him.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>This Week: <\/strong>As a family, read selected portions of Matthew 8:23\u201334.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Next Week: <\/strong>Matthew 9:1\u20138<\/p>\n<p><strong>Memory Verse:<\/strong> So the men marveled, saying, <strong>\u201cWho can this be, that even the winds and the sea obey Him?\u201d Matthew 8:27<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>*Preschool verse in bold print<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The following lesson was taught in our children\u2019s Sunday School classes on Sunday, May 22.
