We would encourage you to use the ideas below to review Sunday\u2019s lesson with your family.<\/p>\n<h2><strong>Satan Tempts Jesus<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p><strong>Passage: <\/strong>Matthew 4:1\u201311<\/p>\n<p><strong>Principle: <\/strong>Only Jesus is righteous and can take away the punishment for men\u2019s sin.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Praise: <\/strong>\u201cHoly, Holy, Holy\u201d<\/p>\n<p><strong>Prompt: <\/strong>Ask your child these questions:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>In what ways did Satan tempt Jesus?<\/li>\n<li>With what words and actions did Jesus respond to Satan\u2019s temptation?<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Practice: <\/strong>Help your child apply these truths in the following ways:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>By resisting temptation by knowing the truth of God\u2019s Word.<\/li>\n<li>By trusting God\u2019s Word when he is tempted to sin.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>This Week: <\/strong>As a family, read selected portions of Matthew 4:1\u201311.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Next Week: <\/strong>Matthew 4:12\u201325<\/p>\n<p><strong>Memory Verse:<\/strong> No temptation has overtaken you except such as is common to man; but <strong>God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted beyond what you are able<\/strong>, but with the temptation will also make the way of escape, that you may be able to bear it. <strong>1 Corinthians 10:13<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>*Preschool verse in bold print<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The following lesson was taught in our children\u2019s Sunday School classes on Sunday, May 1.
