We would encourage you to use the ideas below to review Sunday\u2019s lesson with your family.<\/p>\n<h2><strong>God\u2019s Law Brings the Jews to Repentance<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p><strong>Passage: <\/strong>Nehemiah 8\u201310<\/p>\n<p><strong>Principle: <\/strong>Believers respond to God\u2019s Word by turning away from sin and humbly depending on Christ.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Praise: <\/strong>\u201cI Love You, Lord\u201d<\/p>\n<p><strong>Prompt: <\/strong>Ask your child these questions:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>How did the Israelites respond to Ezra reading God\u2019s Word?<\/li>\n<li>What covenant did the people make?<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Practice: <\/strong>Help your child apply these truths in the following ways:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>By rejoicing that God has given us His Word.<\/li>\n<li>By repenting from sin and committing to obey God.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>This Week: <\/strong>As a family, read selected portions of Nehemiah 8\u201310.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Next Week: <\/strong>Matthew 21\u201323; Zechariah 9:9<\/p>\n<p><strong>Memory Verse:<\/strong><strong> Give me understanding, and I shall keep Your law<\/strong>; Indeed, I shall observe it with my whole heart. <strong>Psalm 119:34<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>*Preschool verse in bold print<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The following lesson was taught in our children\u2019s Sunday School classes on Sunday, February 28.
