We would encourage you to use the ideas below to review Sunday\u2019s lesson with your family.<\/p>\n<h2><strong>God Shows Mercy to Jonah and Nineveh<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p><strong>Passage: <\/strong>Jonah 1\u20134<\/p>\n<p><strong>Principle: <\/strong>God is gracious and compassionate.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Praise: <\/strong>\u201cHumble Thyself in the Sight of the Lord\u201d<\/p>\n<p><strong>Prompt: <\/strong>Ask your child these questions:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Why did Jonah not want to preach to Nineveh?<\/li>\n<li>How was God merciful to Jonah and Nineveh?<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Practice: <\/strong>Help your child apply these truths in the following ways:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>By thanking God for being merciful to sinners.<\/li>\n<li>By asking God to use you to show His mercy to others.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>This Week: <\/strong>As a family, read selected portions of Jonah 1\u20134.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Next Week: <\/strong>Daniel 2<\/p>\n<p><strong>Memory Verse:<\/strong> \u201cI know that <strong>You are a gracious and compassionate God<\/strong>, slow to anger and abundant in lovingkindness\u201d <strong>Jonah 4:2b<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>*Preschool verse in bold print<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The following lesson was taught in our children\u2019s Sunday School classes on Sunday,\u00a0November\u00a015.
