We would encourage you to use the ideas below to review Sunday\u2019s lesson with your family.<\/p>\n<h2><strong>Elijah and the Prophets of Baal<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p><strong>Passage: <\/strong>1 Kings 17:1; 18:17\u201346<\/p>\n<p><strong>Principle: <\/strong>God\u2019s supremacy is demonstrated through humble obedience.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Praise: <\/strong>\u201cGreat Is Thy Faithfulness\u201d<\/p>\n<p><strong>Prompt: <\/strong>Ask your child these questions:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Why did Elijah call the Israelites and priests of Baal to Mount Carmel?<\/li>\n<li>How was God glorified through the events on Mount Carmel?<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Practice: <\/strong>Help your child apply these truths in the following ways:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>By trusting that God answers the prayers of the righteous (James 5:16\u201318).<\/li>\n<li>By demonstrating God\u2019s supremacy by submitting to and worshiping Him.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>This Week: <\/strong>As a family, read selected portions of 1 Kings 17:1; 18:17\u201346.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Next Week: <\/strong>2 Kings 18\u201319<\/p>\n<p><strong>Memory Verse:<\/strong><strong> The prayer of a righteous person is powerful and effective.
