We would encourage you to use the ideas below to review Sunday\u2019s lesson with your family.<\/p>\n<h2><b>God Calls Joshua to Be His Servant<\/b><\/h2>\n<p><b>Passage: <\/b>Joshua 1:1\u20138<\/p>\n<p><b>Principle: <\/b>God requires believers to live as His servants.<\/p>\n<p><b>Praise: <\/b>\u201cMake Me a Servant\u201d<\/p>\n<p><b>Prompt: <\/b>Ask your child these questions:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>What did God command Joshua?<\/li>\n<li>What did God promise Joshua?<\/li>\n<li>How did God fulfill His promise to give Israel the Promised Land?<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><b><br \/>\nPractice: <\/b>Help your child apply these truths in the following ways:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>By being strong and courageous in serving God.<\/li>\n<li>By memorizing and meditating on God\u2019s Word.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><b><br \/>\nThis Week: <\/b>As a family, read Joshua 1:1\u20138.<\/p>\n<p><b>Next Week: <\/b>Joshua 2<\/p>\n<p><b>Memory Verses:<\/b> \u201cBe strong and of good courage; do not be afraid, nor be dismayed, for <b>the LORD your God is with you wherever you go.\u201d<\/b><b> Joshua 1:9*<\/b><\/p>\n<p><b>* Preschool verse in bold print<\/b><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The following lesson was taught in our children\u2019s Sunday School classes on Sunday, May 10.
