We would encourage you to use the ideas below to review Sunday\u2019s lesson with your family.<\/p>\n<h2><b>God Promises Blessings or Cursings<\/b><\/h2>\n<p><b>Passage: <\/b>Deuteronomy 11:8\u201317; 28:20<\/p>\n<p><b>Principle: <\/b>God blesses obedience and punishes disobedience.<\/p>\n<p><b>Praise: <\/b>\u201cTrust and Obey\u201d<\/p>\n<p><b>Prompt: <\/b>Ask your child these questions:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>What did Israel have to do to receive God\u2019s blessing?<\/li>\n<li>What would happen if Israel disobeyed God?<\/li>\n<li>How did God promise to bless or curse Israel?<\/li>\n<li>How can you be obedient to God?<\/li>\n<li>Are there consequences for disobedience today?<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><b><br \/>\nPractice: <\/b>Help your child apply these truths in the following ways:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>By demonstrating his love for God through obedience to His Word.<\/li>\n<li>By remembering God\u2019s blessings and mercies.<\/li>\n<li>By memorizing God\u2019s Word.<\/li>\n<li>By honoring God in all he does.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><b><br \/>\nThis Week: <\/b>As a family, read Deuteronomy 11:8\u201317 and 28:20.<\/p>\n<p><b>Next Week:<\/b>\u00a0 Joshua 1:1-9<\/p>\n<p><b>Memory Verses:<\/b> \u201cYour word I have treasured in my heart, that I may not sin against You.\u201d Psalm 119:11<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The following lesson was taught in our children\u2019s Sunday School classes on Sunday, May 3.
