Hands shoot up energetically, begging to answer your question.\u00a0 Is this what your Bible-lesson review looks like?\u00a0 Maybe not?\u00a0 If it doesn&#8217;t,\u00a0it can!<\/p>\n<p>Educators agree:\u00a0 repetition and review is a huge key to academic success.\u00a0 How much more important is this when teaching the Bible?\u00a0 Maybe your idea of a review time in class looks helpful but boring.\u00a0 How can you review your lessons and keep it exciting?\u00a0 Here are a few enjoyable game ideas to place in your bag of teacher tricks.<\/p>\n<h2>Race to the Finish Line<\/h2>\n<p>If you have a whiteboard or chalkboard in your classroom, this game is an easy one to do.\u00a0 Draw two \u201cracetracks\u201d on the board by drawing two rows of dashes. \u00a0Either draw stick figures at the beginning of each track, or stick paper cut-outs on the tracks with sticky-tack.\u00a0 Split the class into teams, and alternate asking the teams questions.\u00a0 As each team answers questions, move their \u201cracers\u201d along the racetrack.\u00a0 If a team misses a question, let the other team try.\u00a0 Whichever racer reaches the finish line first, wins!<\/p>\n<h2>Jeopardy Bag<\/h2>\n<p>Write point values on slips of paper and put them in an opaque bag (or fold the pieces of paper in half in a clear bag).\u00a0 Make a \u201cfrowny face\u201d card and a \u201csmiley face\u201d card.\u00a0 Split the class into two teams, and begin asking review questions.\u00a0 You can make this a free-for-all, by asking children to raise their hands, or you can make it more orderly by having teams take turns and working your way through an established line-up within each team.\u00a0 As children answer\u00a0questions correctly, have them draw\u00a0cards out of the bag.\u00a0 The team then gets as many points as indicated on the card.\u00a0 If a team draws the frowny face, it loses all its points.\u00a0 If it draws the smiley face, its points are doubled.\u00a0 Keep track of the points on the board.<\/p>\n<h2>Pre-K Zoo Review<\/h2>\n<p>For younger children, you can have a child who gives a correct answer select an animal that they would like the class to act like for a few seconds.<\/p>\n<h2>Zip-Lock Journal<\/h2>\n<p>For older children, keep a zip-lock bag full of index cards.\u00a0 After your lesson, have children draw a picture or draw something they learned from the lesson that they would like to apply in their lives.<\/p>\n<h2>Hangman Review<\/h2>\n<p>Play Hangman as you ask questions from the lesson.\u00a0 After a child answers a question, he gets to guess a letter in the puzzle.<\/p>\n<h2>Tic-Tac-Toe Review<\/h2>\n<p>Play Tic-Tac-Toe as you ask review questions.\u00a0 Split your class into O\u2019s and X\u2019s.\u00a0 Take turns asking each team a question.\u00a0 The team only gets to put an X or O on the board after answering a question correctly.\u00a0 If a team misses a question, the other team gets a chance to answer the question.<\/p>\n<h2>Egg-Carton Review<\/h2>\n<p>Have the class form two lines, as if they were going to do a relay.\u00a0 Place an egg-carton several feet in front of each line (before class, use a marker to number each hollow in the cartons with a point value).\u00a0 Take turns asking each team\u00a0a question.\u00a0 After a student answers a question correctly, he tries to toss a marble or small stone into the egg carton. \u00a0If he makes it in, his team\u00a0gets as many points as are written in the egg carton hollow.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>How can you review your lessons and keep it exciting?
