The following lesson was taught in our children’s Sunday School classes on Sunday, May 2. We would encourage you to use the ideas below to review Sunday’s lesson with your family.
God Restores Jerusalem’s Wall and People
Read: Nehemiah 1-10
Ask your child:
- How did God use Nehemiah? Nehemiah led the people to rebuild Jerusalem’s walls.
- How did the Israelites respond to the reading of God’s Word? They repented.
Emphasize this principle: God restores what is broken. Therefore, we should repent and seek His glory.
Practice:
- Praise God for being faithful to His people and promises.
- Repent from sin and live to honor God.
Praise: “Great Is Thy Faithfulness”
Prepare for next week: Review 1 Samuel-Esther
Memorize for Mar 28-May 2: “Do not be deceived, God is not mocked; for whatever a man sows, this he will also reap. For the one who sows to his own flesh will from the flesh reap corruption, but the one who sows to the Spirit will from the Spirit reap eternal life. Let us not lose heart in doing good, for in due time we will reap if we do not grow weary.”
Galatians 6:7-9*
