The following lesson was taught in our children’s Sunday School classes on Sunday, June 1. We would encourage you to use the ideas below to review Sunday’s lesson with your family.
John Testifies to the Exalted Jesus Christ
Passage: Revelation 1:1–20
Principle: Though trials and sufferings come, Jesus Christ continues to live, reign, and be faithful to His church.
Praise: “Crown Him”
Prompt: Ask your child these questions:
- What was the church experiencing at the time when John wrote Revelation
- Why was Christ’s message to John and the seven churches encouraging?
Practice: Help your child apply these truths in the following ways:
- By submitting to Jesus, who reigns as King and Lord over the entire universe.
- By eagerly awaiting Jesus’ return.
This Week: As a family, read Revelation 1:1–20.
Next Week: Revelation 5:1–14
Memory Verse: “I am the Alpha and the Omega,” says the Lord God, “who is and who was and who is to come, the Almighty.” Revelation 1:8
