God’s Law Brings the Jews to Repentance
Passage: Nehemiah 8–10
Principle: Believers respond to God’s Word by turning away from sin and humbly depending on Christ.
Praise: “I Love You, Lord”
Prompt: Ask your child these questions:
- How did the Israelites respond to Ezra reading God’s Word?
- What covenant did the people make?
Practice: Help your child apply these truths in the following ways:
- By rejoicing that God has given us His Word.
- By repenting from sin and committing to obey God.
Memory Verse: Psalm 119:34
“Give me understanding, and I shall keep Your law; Indeed, I shall observe it with my whole heart” (Psalm 119:34)
