And if you haven&#8217;t been doing anything, at least consider starting to walk. The benefits of exercising during pregnancy are similar to the benefits found in exercising for anyone:<!--more--><\/p>\n<p><strong>Benefits of Prenatal Exercise<\/strong><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Stronger muscles<\/li>\n<li>Increased energy and endurance<\/li>\n<li>More restful sleep<\/li>\n<li>Improved digestion and elimination<\/li>\n<li>Less chance of needed intervention<\/li>\n<li>Better balance and coordination &#8211; not as likely to fall<\/li>\n<li>Improved posture<\/li>\n<li>Reduced tension and anxiety!!<\/li>\n<li>Social opportunity<\/li>\n<li>Improved body awareness and control (can identify areas of tension and feel more confident)<\/li>\n<li>Quicker physical and mental recovery from both a cesarean and vaginal delivery and less depression<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>Also, though exercise does not guarantee a shorter or easier labor or prevent a cesarean birth, for moms who exercise there is:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>35% decreased need for pain relief medication<\/li>\n<li>55% decreased need for episiotomy<\/li>\n<li>75% decrease in cesarean birth<\/li>\n<li>33% decrease in length of labor, plus lower maternal exhaustion<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Faith Community Center is excited to host StrollerBlast.
