And He focuses the narrative on two main questions.<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Who is Jesus? (1:1-8:30)<\/li>\n<li>What does Jesus expect from those who follow him? (8:31-16:8)<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>The main point of Mark 4:35-8:30 is that for Jesus to be seen properly, Jesus must be viewed by faith.\u00a0<em>Without faith, Jesus is the one who is seen but not recognized and the one who is heard but not understood<\/em><\/p>\n<p><strong>Lesson 13<\/strong>\u00a0&#8211;\u00a0<strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.biblegateway.com\/passage\/?search=Mark+6%3A1-32&amp;version=NASB\" target=\"_blank\">Mark 6:1-32<\/a> &#8211; <\/strong>Notice how Jesus chooses to use disciples to accomplish his mission, and in light of John the baptist beheading we learn discipleship is costly, so faith in Christ is paramount.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>DISCUSS \u2013 <\/strong>How does Jesus being without honor in his hometown and with people who know Him best challenge you in your relationship with Christ?<\/li>\n<li><strong>DISCUSS\u00a0<\/strong>\u2013 What are some things that distract us from the mission, and how can we overcome those distractions.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Lesson 14<\/strong>\u00a0&#8211;\u00a0<strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.biblegateway.com\/passage\/?search=Mark+6%3A33-56&amp;version=NASB\" target=\"_blank\">Mark 6:33-56<\/a><\/strong> &#8211; Notice the feeding of the 5000 and walking on water are amazing\u00a0events, but they reveal the hard hearts of the disciples. cf.\u00a0Exodus 33:19-23,\u00a0Exod 34:6,\u00a0Job 9:8, 11<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>DISCUSS \u2013 <\/strong>What observations do you make of Jesus the disciples and why do they stand out to you?<\/li>\n<li><strong>DISCUSS \u2013 <\/strong>\u00a0Do you notice that Jesus sent the disciples away and dismissed the crowd himself. What might be some of the reasons for that?<\/li>\n<li><strong>DISCUSS \u2013 <\/strong>\u00a0How would this last section particularly encourage Marks gentile readers?<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Lesson 15 &#8211;\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.biblegateway.com\/passage\/?search=Mark+7%3A1-23&amp;version=NASB\" target=\"_blank\">Mark 7:1-23<\/a> &#8211; <\/strong>Faith in Jesus\u00a0must not just be external acts, but require a heart focus.
