We have enjoyed some exciting ministry opportunities during the first two nights of Vacation Bible School this year. \u00a0So far, the Lord has allowed us to reach an average of over 560 children, the highest VBS attendance in our church\u2019s history.<\/p>\n
More importantly, we have already witnessed a lot of\u00a0meaningful discipleship. Below\u00a0are\u00a0a couple of brief testimonies\u00a0from one parent and one grandparent\u00a0describing\u00a0the way kids have been\u00a0impacted through this year\u2019s\u00a0outreach.<\/p>\n
I have some exciting news. I have been bringing 4 of my grandchildren to VBS this week. On the way home, our 5th grade grandson was telling all of us his new memory verse. It said something about being \u201cborn again.\u201d This raised questions among the other 3 about what it means to be \u201cborn again.\u201d We had a great discussion. <\/em><\/p>\n They, of course, thought that you would have to go back into your mother\u2019s belly to be born again. We went on to discuss heaven and hell and eternal life. They all wanted to know how they could be born again too. <\/em><\/p>\n We told them it takes the simple act of asking Jesus to forgive your sins and be your Savior. After the discussion, our 2nd<\/sup> grade grandson announced that he had just prayed to trust Jesus and was saved!\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n It was late, and we had to drop him off at his parents\u2019 house, so we didn’t have much time to discuss this with him. But we will. My normally quiet 5 year-old, who normally gives me\u00a0no information, was pumped after VBS\u00a0tonight. He told me he had a clean heart because he had asked Jesus to be his Savior\u00a0a while ago. He told his 3 year-old brother that he needs to ask Jesus to be His Savior when he turns 5 because his heart is\u00a0dirty. \u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n His brother yelled, “It\u2019s not dirty!” <\/em><\/p>\n My 5 year-old looked at him with a serious expression and said, “It doesn\u2019t hurt when Jesus is in your heart.”<\/em><\/p>\n Just wanted you to know they\u00a0are hearing you! Thank you for teaching our kids!<\/em><\/p>\n We covet your prayers\u00a0for the ministry of our servants and for the work of the Holy Spirit in the hearts of the children participating in Vacation Bible School this week.
