As we study the book of 1 Samuel this blog series will help us prepare for our Sunday morning Adult Bible Fellowship<\/a> discussions as well as review what was learned from the past week. Here are some guides to help you get the most out of the book of 1 Samuel as well as the first lesson.<\/p>\n

Book of 1 Samuel<\/h2>\n

I would encourage everyone to read the Book of 1 Samuel in 1 sitting if possible. It will take you about 1 hour and 40 minutes according to this website<\/a>. \u00a0I was able to do it a bit faster, but I had a lot of espresso that day :) . If you can’t do it in one sitting at least try to do it in a few large chunks. Old Testament narrative really lends itself to be understood best by reading in larger sections.<\/p>\n

Also this is a handy article<\/a> that includes some more bible reading tips. Listening to it on Audio bible is a great alternative if you are driving or want to do some other housework while listening. I like Bible gateway<\/a>, but there are lots of options. This sermon<\/a> by Mark Dever on the whole book of 1 Samuel is also helpful.<\/p>\n
