Have your every heard of the Telephone Game? It goes like this. Gather a small group of people in a circle where one whispers a short sentence into the ear of the person next to them. That person whispers what they heard into the ear of the person next to them. So it goes as the sentence travels around the circle, person by person, until it arrives back into the ear of the originator. The game ends when original version of the sentence is revealed along with the final rendition, which is usually in a form that is twisted and barely recognizable from the original.<\/p>\n

The Telephone Game, great fun at a party, is often times disingenuously used as an illustration to represent how Bible translation results in a warped and unreliable modern translation barely recognizable from the original.<\/p>\n
