God’s View vs. Your View

Some pictures are worth more than 1,000 words…

As I have mentioned before, I think in pictures. I have to confess that I stole this picture off of someone’s facebook post (my drawing skills are not that good); but I think that this picture says it all. When I think about how I want my life to be, when I think about trials, temptations, and life in general – I don’t want anything hard. I want smooth sailing, like the character in this picture, I want to glide across the finish line, nice and easy.

God sees it differently.  God says, in James 1:2-4, that we should, “Consider it pure joy, my brethren, when you encounter various trials, knowing that the testing of your faith produces endurance. And let endurance have its perfect result, so that you may be perfect and complete, lacking in nothing.”

I don’t know about you, but, in my flesh, I really don’t think that way at all. I think that what would be great, what would make me lack nothing, is a smooth ride – God says that isn’t the way.

So, if you are facing hard times today, remember that is God’s plan; and, by going through it, you will lack nothing.
