The expression “elephant in the room” refers to a topic, situation, or person, that is present, but no one is willing to bring up.\u00a0 This thought of “transparent transformation” is one such elephant in the room.\u00a0 What do I mean by that?\u00a0 Well, think about it.<\/p>\n

Open Up<\/h2>\n

People love the concept of a finished product, a totally redone or completed renovation project, a life that is changed; but how many people really get excited or energized about sharing the process <\/em>of change or transformation while it’s occuring – present time? \u00a0 Additionally, many “success stories” we read about have to do with people who have completed a high level of change; and now that\u00a0the high\u00a0level has been reached, that person is willing to be transparent <\/em>about the process<\/em> of change he or she went through in the past to get to his or her present point (of success).<\/p>\n

What is my point?\u00a0Why don’t I\/we regularly communicate appropriately and transparently the transformations taking place in our lives as they are taking place<\/em>? <\/strong><\/p>\n

“Transparent transformation” means I am willing to openly communicate how God is transforming my life to be like Christ – while the transformation is occuring, inviting others into the process – not because of me, but because of what God is doing in me.\u00a0 The Christian life is about sharing the process as well as sharing in the results.<\/p>\n

My Example: Education<\/h2>\n

So… “Give me an example,” you say.\u00a0 Personally, one area I am committing to transparent transformation is further education starting fall 2011.\u00a0 I am embarking on\u00a0a three to four year journey of further formal education in order to grow spiritually, educationally, and ministerially by God’s grace and for His glory.\u00a0 At age forty, with a wife and four children, and plenty of responsibilities as a pastor, I can use all the prayer support possible.\u00a0 I want this to benefit me and my family, church family, community, the biblical counseling movement, and the world.<\/p>\n

So what’s your <\/em>transparent transformation?<\/strong><\/p>\n
