The Beauty of Adoption

Adoption is a beautiful word that impacts each one of us. Perhaps you have never been adopted into a physical family on this earth, but the Bible teaches that God desires to adopt us into His family and be our Abba Father!

Ephesians 1:3-6 proclaims, “Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us in the heavenly realms with every spiritual blessing in Christ. For he chose us in him before the creation of the world to be holy and blameless in his sight. In love he predestined us for adoption to sonship through Jesus Christ, in accordance with his pleasure and will— to the praise of his glorious grace, which he has freely given us in the One he loves.”

In another beautiful display of the Gospel, Galatians 4:4-7 states, “But when the set time had fully come, God sent his Son, born of a woman, born under the law, to redeem those under the law, that we might receive adoption to sonship. Because you are his sons, God sent the Spirit of his Son into our hearts, the Spirit who calls out, ‘Abba, Father.’ So you are no longer a slave, but God’s child; and since you are his child, God has made you also an heir.”

Our adoption into the family of God is the most important, beautiful, amazing thing that could ever occur in the life of an individual. How awesome it is to think that God allows us opportunities to participate in earthly adoptions as a small reflection of His redemptive love for us!

If you or someone you know is pregnant and does not know where to turn, our staff would be thrilled to help you consider your options to take part in a beautiful reflection of our Lord – adoption! Just call our office at (765) 447-5900.

Bethany Dunn
Bethany heard about Vision of Hope while attending Word of Life Bible Institute in Florida. When she began praying about what God wanted her to do after graduating, He kept bringing Vision of Hope to her mind. Knowing that there was an internship available, Bethany applied, was accepted, and began her internship with VOH in July, 2012. Since then she has been amazed at the opportunities God has given her to learn more about His Word and how it applies to everyday life. Bethany now serves on staff at Vision of Hope.
