Moments of Grace: Part 8

It has been so incredible to hear from our staff, interns, and residents over the past couple of months share how they have seen God’s grace in their lives. I don’t know about you, but I know we at VOH have been both encouraged and challenged by these powerful testimonies.

John 1:14, 16 says, “And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we have seen His glory, glory as of the only Son from the Father, full of grace and truth. For from His fullness we have all received, grace upon grace.” Not only does the Bible teach that God gives us grace, but that He gives us grace upon grace! We all deserve nothing but wrath from God, but not only does He withhold His wrath from those who trust in Him as their Lord and Savior, but He also gives us “every spiritual blessing” (Eph. 1:3) while we are here on this earth. Now that’s grace!

As we end this series, please know that God’s grace never ends, and “His mercies are new every morning” (Lam. 3:23). Let’s close with a bang, and listen in as a few of our residents share their final words on the subject of God’s grace, as they have seen it in their lives:

He brought me to a place. A very broken place. And the only thing left for me was VOH. And now, by His grace, I am safe and sound while resting in Him for hope and healing.”

He kept me safe when I sinned against Him. When I overdosed before coming to VOH and was in the hospital, He showed me grace! He didn’t take my life when it should have been taken. He showed me grace, and gave me another chance.

I’ve seen God’s grace recently in having such a loving, forgiving, and supportive family as I go through my journey here at VOH. He has truly blessed my life, and I know that His grace is enough!

It is obvious that God’s grace reigns mightily in each of our lives, and perhaps we will now be more aware of these daily displays of grace. May we never forget how He has blessed us, and may we never cease to praise Him for His marvelous grace!

Bethany Dunn
Bethany heard about Vision of Hope while attending Word of Life Bible Institute in Florida. When she began praying about what God wanted her to do after graduating, He kept bringing Vision of Hope to her mind. Knowing that there was an internship available, Bethany applied, was accepted, and began her internship with VOH in July, 2012. Since then she has been amazed at the opportunities God has given her to learn more about His Word and how it applies to everyday life. Bethany now serves on staff at Vision of Hope.
