Summer “Break”

Summer is anything but a break here in the VOH house this month! We are busy, busy!  There are many exciting things happening that we want you to be aware of!  New ministry opportunities are on the horizon, the Vision of Hope Homecoming weekend starts tomorrow, and we have just celebrated the graduation of three residents from our program!

This past Friday Vision of Hope staff, residents past and present, family, and friends all gathered together to celebrate and recall God’s faithful redemption of three very special lives – Abby MacArthur, Kate Shepherd, and Sarah Landolt.  The evening was spent hearing testimonies from each of the ladies, along with their counselors, about the work that God has done in their lives.  It was a touching time of worship and prayer dedicating these young ladies to serve and honor the Lord, as they go forth from Vision of Hope, as shining examples and witnesses of His faithfulness!  What an exciting and encouraging evening.

After the graduation ceremony, friends and family had refreshments and of course CAKE at the Vision of Hope home, and a chance to fellowship together in honor of the grads.  Following this, the current residents and the graduates have their ritual “Fireside Chat”, lead by Director Jocelyn Wallace.  It is a very sweet time where the graduates are able to share from their experiences to encourage and challenge the current girls in the program.  There is always laughters as they reflect upon funny memories, tears as they recount their challenges and struggles, and hope as they see how miraculously God has changed them.  Ask any resident and they will tell you that the Fireside Chat is a highly cherished time of processing and encouragement, as they look to their own future graduations from the program.

Congratulations to Abby, Kate, and Sarah! We are so excited to see how God uses you in the future, for His glory and honor!
