Faith Kids @ Home: June 30, 2013

The following lesson was taught in our children’s Sunday School classes on Sunday, June 30.  We would encourage you to use the ideas below to review Sunday’s lesson with your family.

Satan Tempts Jesus

Passage:  Matthew 4:1–11

Principle:  Only Jesus is righteous and can take away the punishment for men’s sin.

Praise:  “Holy, Holy, Holy”

Prompt:  Ask your child these questions:

  • In what ways did Satan tempt Jesus?
  • With what words and actions did Jesus respond to Satan’s temptation?

Practice:  Help your child apply these truths in the following ways:

  • By resisting temptation by knowing the truth of God’s Word.
  • By trusting God’s Word when he is tempted to sin.

This Week:  As a family, read selected portions of Matthew 4:1–11.

Next Week:  Matthew 4:12–25

Memory Verse:  1 Corinthians 10:13
No temptation has overtaken you except such as is common to man; but God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted beyond what you are able, but with the temptation will also make the way of escape, that you may be able to bear it.  ** Preschool verse in bold print.
