Special Guests at the 2017 Biblical Counseling Training Conference

We are just a couple weeks from the start of the 2017 Biblical Counseling Training Conference (February 12-17). We have over 1,900 people registered from 16 countries around the world.  We count it a joy and privilege to be given the opportunity to help encourage and equip God’s people for the personal ministry of the Word.

Davey-and-Amanda-BlackburnThis year we have a very special opportunity. Many of you will remember that in November 2015 a pastor’s wife from Indianapolis, Indiana was killed in her home as was the child in her womb. Thankfully, their other child, a little boy, was not physically harmed by the attackers. It was a heinous crime that attracted the attention of national news outlets: Amanda Blackburn: Affidavit provides details in murder of pastor’s wife.

The parents of that woman, Phil and Robin Byars, will be here on Thursday evening February 16th to share how God has been a source of strength, hope, and comfort in the midst of grief beyond grief. Phil is the lead pastor at First Baptist Church in Elkhart, and they have been friends of the ministry at Faith for years.

It is hard to imagine processing the loss of two very young lives. Yet, we know that the Lord is able to give us grace for help in our time of need (Hebrews 4:14-16). The Byars are living proof.

This service will also be broadcast live at www.faithlafayette.org/bctclive beginning at 7:00 pm on February 16.

We still have space in our conference for virtually every track, so if you are still considering it, this would be a great year to register and attend.
