Soul Surfer is a well-done movie based on a true story that teaches many life lessons. It also challenges each of you regarding “Who do you turn to when life is hard?” Where do you go when tragedy strikes or when the unexpected occurs? For those of you who are looking for a way to naturally share your faith, Soul Surfer provides a great bridge to sharing what you believe by starting discussions with other teens about this movie. So, enjoy! I think you will find it to be much more than just entertainmnet.
Answer for Parents
Yes, movies are way overpriced. Yes, there are plenty of movies we don’t want our teens seeing. Yes, today’s teens spend too much time being entertained. But are there some movies that we can utilize as discussion starters and training tools for our kids? Yes. Do you find yourself saying “no” more than “yes” to your teen? This would be a good opportunity to say “yes” and have a fun time. You seriously can have multiple quality discussions with your teens from this movie.
